* Do you really want even a small chance of being side-stepped for a lift up the ladder or wage increases because you’re getting trained in a different area.

* Who amongst us hasn’t avoided putting our hand’s up, because we wanted to fit in?

* For those of us who need to sometimes work elsewhere in the country for several days at a time, consider the added problems of travelling to the required workshops, as time is now more scarce than ever.

It really does make a lot more sense to learn at a time that’s convenient for you – not the school – and utilise videos of instructors with interactive virtual-lab’s.

You can train wherever you want. If your PC is a laptop, you could catch a bit of sun outside while you study. Any issues that arise just make use of the 24×7 support.

It’s well known in the industry that if students pay for their relevant examinations, one at a time, there’s a much better chance they’ll qualify each time – since they’ll be conscious of what they’ve paid and therefore will put more effort into their preparation.

Go for the best offer you can find at the time, and avoid college mark-up fees. In addition, it’s then your choice where to take your exam – which means you can stay local.

Why borrow the money or pay in advance (plus interest of course) on exams when there’s absolutely nothing that says you have to? A lot of profit is made by companies charging all their exam fees up-front – and then hoping that you won’t take them all.

Additionally, many exam guarantees are worthless. Many training companies won’t pay again for an exam until you can prove to them you’re ready to pass.

Average exam fees were about 112 pounds in the last 12 months via local VUE or Pro-metric centres throughout the country. Therefore, why splash out often many hundreds of pounds extra to get ‘an Exam Guarantee’, when it’s obvious that what’s really needed is a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools.

A+ consists of four exams and areas of study, but your only requirement is to get your exams in 2 of them to be considered A+ competent. Because of this, many educational establishments restrict their course to just 2 areas. Yet learning about all 4 will help you to build a much wider knowledge and understanding of it all, which you’ll find an important asset in industry.

Training courses in A+ are about fault finding and diagnosing – remotely as well as hands on, alongside learning to build, repair and fix and having knowledge of antistatic conditions.
