The Forum Marketing

Copyright 2006 Pamela Wyke Forum marketing can be a bit tricky. You have to be subtle or you can get banned. Look below at the “long post” for a list of the forums I have joined. It is a good idea to read and post in each of them every day which I have been really lax on. Now that I am not trying to publish my articles every day I can start posting there again. Forums can be alot of fun because they allow for open communication.Make a fun avatar Say something cute and memorable in your signature and you will get a good and friendly reputation. Steer clear of political and religious comments and threads and if you choose to post something there be sure to be extremely tactful! If someone starts to goad you stop and don't respond at all unless you can be super super professional. Read the whole thread looking for tips and opinions that can help your business. Then post if you have something meaningful to say. Never post an ad on a forum! Make sure that your signature has your link and talk about what you have learned or how your life is changed by “your opportunity” but don't use phrases like “Come Check this out!” or “Come to my site”

If you find someone who you think (from reading their posts) would be a good member of your team send them a PM and don't invite them to join up. Just say hi. Mention that you enjoy reading their posts and would like to be friends. Give them your MSN username or your email address. After you get to know them a bit they will likely ask you what your opportunity is or for sure they will check out your site. You likely won't even need to invite them. Go to theirs and if they list a blog link add it to your bloglinker. Be Friendly! Be always on the lookout for people who you can connect with. Maybe they have a service that would help you market your site or maybe they are just fun people to get to know. Maybe they would benefit from your encouragment. Forums are alot of fun and I have only posted about three days of posting in each forum and I already have two good leads from my forum posts. These are people who PMed me and asked specifically for Success U information. So I think it is a very good marketing idea. Sign up for as many forums as you can handle.

Internet Moutains Not The Yellow Brick Road.

Rick Beneteau a great author and the inovator of The Ezine Marketing Machine once wrote. the road to success is often a steep and rocky one. There are mountains in your way, not on the roadmap that you must be prepared to climb. This one small portion of a paragraph stuck with me more then anything else I have read on the subject of success on the Internet. This story is not about Rick or about roads Though. It is however about the great mountains to success that lay in front of each of the brave souls that dare to travel the Internet marketing super highway. With any mountain there are many dangers. With narrows, overhangs, cliffs, boulders, and loose rocks, dangers every one. Even to the best-trained mountaineer one wrong calculation, a bad dission or the wrong hand placement can plumit them spiraling down to disaster,  to their doom. Of course there is a lot of wonderful safety equipment that the trained mountain climber can choose from to make there climb to the top a safe one.

Also I am quite sure any intelligent mountaineer wouldn't ever think about climbing any mountain with out the proper education and a complete understanding of the terrain. Just like that mountain. Marketing on the Internet has many dangers obstacles that could cause disaster for even the best of the Internet marketers. Anyone wanting to market anything on line should educate them self's and get to know the terrain before ever taking that first step. In my opinion education is far and above the single most important element a new internet marketer should strive for. Let me just mention that the best place that I know of, for any person just starting or even the long term Internet veteran to get the very best in depth Internet marketing education is at Success University.  I wish some one had shared this information about Success University with me when I was first thinking about starting my Internet marketing career.

Believe me that a web designer will help you  a lot on Internet Marketing and web hosting.

Get Free Publicity with a Fact Sheet

You probably know that if you want to get free publicity, you need to send a press release to the media. But a press release is meant to cover the broad strokes, not go into the details. That’s why people who are serious about getting publicity create a press kit. The press kit can contain several items in addition to your press release.

You might want to include a photo, a list of suggested questions, a list of media that have already done a story on you or your company and a fact sheet.

A great way to make your pitch to the media stronger is to augment is to include a separate fact sheet with the press release. Fact sheets are easy to create. Simply list of series of facts that relate to your story.

Let’s say that your are a real estate broker or agent. You might want to create a list that contains such items as the following:

Median price that homes sell for in your town.

Media price a year ago, six months ago

A statement about how long as house in your community was on sale this time last year vs this year.

You may also want to list some relevant facts about your company. This is especially useful if you are beating the competition. Some facts to consider are:

How many homes you’ve sold so far this year, or the monthly average

The average number of homes sold by all the real estate companies in your community

How many years you’ve been in business

The number of agents in your company, and so on

So in your efforts to get free publicity, you can create a wide number of fact sheets, each of which supports a particular press release or story angle. So consider adding a fact sheet to your press kit and watch your free publicity grow. Or as they often said in the old” Dragnet” TV show and movie, “Just the facts, ma’am.

Finally a SYSTEM for Success @ Home!

MLM… Direct Marketing… Affiliate Marketing… Home Business… Call it what you like, the rate of success for participants in these enterprises is just awful. Why must this be?

We believe the reason is quite simple. Actual (or potential) marketers feel that they either cannot do what is required of them, or are simply unwilling to do what is necessary. Cannot because they lack the skills or training, will not because of comfort level, pride, or perhaps introversion. And what is necessary?

The skill set typically understood to lead to success in Home Based Business includes “pitching and prodding, sifting and sorting!”

Therefore, prospects believe, with good reason, that their success will depend on their ability to “pitch and prod,” and “sift and sort.” Is it any wonder so many people decline the offer, despite promises of high weekly paychecks, to “get involved?”

Do you wonder why your prospects and team members don’t want o do what you do? Are you still demonstrating to your prospects and team members your very best pitching, prodding, sifting, and sorting? And you wonder why they don’t want to “do what you do, and have what you have?” When you prove to them by example that success depends on these activities… They don’t want to be like you!

Aye, there’s the rub. In order for these business models to be successful, there must be duplication of effort. This is often referred to as leveraging. There is no duplication of effort, no leveraging, if your team cannot or will not do what you do.

What must you do, as team leader and business builder, that your team can and will do as well? Decades in the industry have taught us that what can and will be replicated is a system that combines an automated lead generation process with a deliberate but limited personal interface. The internet affords the perfect opportunity to put such a system in place.

Now let’s have a look at the system we have now in place that allows you and all of your team members to achieve success by leveraging your efforts in a way that makes duplication not only possible but probable.

Make Money From Home #1with our System of Success!

Author And Book Marketing Tips

Writing a book is a life-defining experience for a writer. It can be very difficult when the author realizes that their book has not defined anyone else’s life. This is especially true when you rely upon the book for your livelihood. You must get people to buy and read it. But how? What are the best author and book marketing tips?

Funnily enough, many authors are making money by writing books about how to promote books. These may or may not have all of the answers, but they certainly have the right ideas. They advertise online. For just a few dollars for a web page (or maybe a free web page, when you can find it) you can get numerous Google hits. Use the new technology we have. Make YouTube videos, advertise on Facebook, do anything to ensure people hear about you.

If you are a small town author, it is all the better. Living in a big city gives you access to the biggest publishers and agents, but writing a book there is no great news for anyone. In a small town you are far more likely to be noticed. The newspaper will want to interview you, the local news station will do a story on you, book stores may want you in for a book signing. Take advantage of every single one of these opportunities, because they will not come around again.

You must think about your own image when you promote yourself. Be a professional, above all else. Off-color or non-funny jokes will hurt your image, as well as if you dress like a slob. You also need to know just how much you should tell about your book. If you reveal the whole story, no one is going to bother reading it. Speak intelligently but do not alienate people with intellectual babble. You must be personable and just a tiny bit mysterious while still forcing yourself onto people’s radar.

You must play on everyone’s memories of you. Talk about the town’s influence on your writing, or your high school, or other local celebrities in order to give a place pride. Be humble. Remember that people will know your parents or remember you from school and will be eager to see what you have done.

Promote yourself as much as you can without becoming irritating. Do television commercials and put up posters. Making deals with local businesses can be a great business move. You just want your book to get out there, even if you are not making much money on it yet. It takes a while for books to pass from hand to hand and for viral advertising to happen.

Discover additional critical information on how to implement book marketing principles to Discover lots of publicity. Experience the outstanding fun and success of a professional media campaign that focimplements on promoting books. You can achieve your objectives when you know the correct strategy to implement.

Publicity Tips To Land Major Media Attention

If you own a business or have written a book, you’ll want to get out into the world and tell someone about your work and yourself. A great way is to land media placements on radio, TV, in magazines and newspapers and on the internet. But the first question is, how do you get booked on these media outlets, is it as easy as it looks? It can be if you know the publicity tips that get you in the door. You don’t have to be a publicist to land impressive media placements and get exposure for yourself, your book or your business

First things first, before you begin to contact the media, create your press release and publicity tools. Have them ready as the media will ask you to send your materials right away if they have an interest in you. You will need a press release that outlines the information you will share for radio and TV, a media kits and a demo video especially for national TV. Be ready to send the info right away because if you delay, you will lose the advantage of having the interest of the media. Always present a professional image to the media and that means being prepared before you begin so you do not delay when the media wants to go to the next step.

It’s a good idea to build a set of goals for yourself. This way, you can target certain shows or media placements you would like to have in advance. Once you identify where you want to go, you can contact the outlets to be sure you are connecting with the right media people. When you identify your target contacts at your target media you can start the pitching process. Knowing the right people in the media who work in your area of expertise and pitching directly to them will save you a lot of time. Start small so you can learn the ropes and then go into the bigger markets or media placements. Starting small allows you to make a few learning mistakes without doing too much damage to your plan.

Let’s say you want to appear in a certain newspaper or a certain type of magazine, start by reading these periodicals and following them. Identify the journalist that write in your area of expertise and have a natural interest in your topic. Notice the style of the journalist or media outlet, what kind of content they present and how they cover the stories. Now, you are ready to pitch yourself without duplicating a story idea they just covered but can pitch a logical next level idea based on your knowledge of what they just did. By the way, getting results takes time. You might have to make dozens of pitch calls before you are relaxed and comfortable with the process.

The media has a sharp eye and can spot a beginner. It is risky to work with a beginner because of the confidence factor and the untested nature of a beginner. The media wants rock solid experts for their commentary and any uncertainty that you have in your ability will stick out like a sore thumb to them. Your pitch call is an audition for you. If you sound afraid, shy, or stumble on your words the media will be hesitant to book you on the show or quote you as an expert. Practice makes perfect and the idea is to practice your presentation and pitching skills first, before you call important media. Consider media training as this is a fast track to removing the fear and gain the skill set to look and sound like a professional publicist.

Publicity And Media Tips For Experts And Authors

Writers want their work to be read by many; it will mean that they can keep on writing for a living and not as a side-line. Starting out is always hard for any first-time writer. You do not know what to do or how best to market your work. You will probably not be able to afford a high-quality, big city P. R. Firm to do your marketing for you. You may not even have an agent. So how do you get your work known?

Funnily enough, many authors are making money by writing books about how to promote books. These may or may not have all of the answers, but they certainly have the right ideas. They advertise online. For just a few dollars for a web page (or maybe a free web page, when you can find it) you can get numerous Google hits. Use the new technology we have. Make YouTube videos, advertise on Facebook, do anything to ensure people hear about you.

Authors living in rural areas may actually sell more copies. It is nothing for someone from New York city to write a book and be published. Hundreds do it every week. But when you are from a small village in New England, people in your area will pay attention. You will get interviewed on local channels and by local papers. Use all of these opportunities, especially because it costs you nothing. Being a mysterious, reclusive writer should be saved for once you have actually become well-known. Then you can pick and choose your public appearances.
