The racecourse owner won’t be the one crying if a horse has to end its racing career through injury because there are other horses who can replace it. The racecourse owner may even shut up shop one day and take all the profits with him and leaving the racehorse owners desperate for a new venue and a new income source.

As you can see, it is far more beneficial owning the racecourse.
