As a retiree looking to start your own internet or side business, one of the hardest things for new people into the business of internet marketing to do is to tell what is a SCAM and what is a real genuine business opportunity. The sad truth here folks is that millions of us are working at jobs we are no longer feeling fulfilled with.
These jobs may or may not pay our bills. But for some reason the love is just not there anymore…perhaps you’ve noticed this in your own career. You were progressing quite nicely and then as if from out of no where an economic downturn has cause your career and earnings to plummet.
Internet marketing training is being taught at accredited colleges and universities around the globe. This model of doing business is further legitimized by the vast amount of top companies that have used this model.
When you see firms such as Dell, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, General Motors, Ford, Hard Rock Cafe Hotel, Avis Rental Cars . . . it should become apparent that this affiliate marketing is not a fringe idea, but a viable business model. Those firms and thousands more, would not use this model if it was unprofitable. Their very existence depends on results. You know, the proof is in the pudding.
Internet marketing is the overriding arm of what many call referral based marketing. This is really nothing more than making recommendations about products, services and things you value most.
When you find yourself in need of services like a haircut for example. Do you just flip open the phone book and start calling around for an appointment? Most of you wouldn’t do that. What you would likely do is ring up a friend or associate at work or church and ask them if they know of a good barber that accepts appointments.
You are doing the same thing online. With affiliate marketing it really is best to recommend products and services that you’ve found actual value in. If you have used them, then give a true unbiased review of those products or services.
Recently, we were debating about a trip to Jamaica. One of the most helpful sites we read was written by people who had visited the resort and lovely island we were considering. They talked about the food. Their flights. Luggage getting lost and what they did to make up for it. What you should be wary of is just making nonsensical reviews of products or services you’ve never used. It would be like a guy trying to describe how he felt during labor delivery of his child. The mother felt the pain and was committed. The father empathized and was just involved.
Don’t be a bystander reviewer. If you are going to write a review, let it be about something you’ve used, researched or gotten particular interest or value from.
Discovering how you can do this is not that difficult. You really only have to look at your surroundings. What items in your home have you purchased and found them to be a great value? A saw. A sewing machine. A tool. Certain style of clothing. How about your car. A stereo…
You see, everyone of those items have thousands of people that would love to know if they should purchase them or not. Get started sharing your experiences today. You can do this now.
