Do You Need Help Choosing An MLM Opportunity?

Need some help with choosing a Network Marketing opportunity? Not many people actually get to pick their own MLM company as they are invited to join by a member of their own family or a friend.  Often these people did not know of the existence of MLM or Network Marketing as it is sometimes called. If you do need help in choosing a Network Marketing opportunity, you will have to be prepared to do some research and definitely give alot of thought to your decisions.

I disagree with alot of people who say that it does not make any difference which company you join.

 1. You need to really like the products the company sell.  Consider whether you would be prepared to sell them to your Mother. If you could or would not, then maybe they are not right for you.  People can see when you are speaking from the heart, and if you are not, they will not buy from you. If you would use the products even if you did not join the business, then maybe they are right for you.

 2.  What is the market like with regards to these products? If, for instance, it is the latest super juice, have you considered market saturation?  There are just so many companies out there right now, selling the latest antioxidant super juice that I for one, even though I have sold a juice in the past and loved it, would not want to be involved in one nowadays. (And yes, I still drink it!)  You really need something with great potential, a big market, and something which is current.

 3.  Low start up costs are very important.  A high start up cost will put off a large portion of prospects.  Low costs have always been one of the most important selling points of an MLM business. It brings starting your own business within almost anyone’s budget.  Many people could not afford to get involved in their own business, so MLM is accessible to many more people.

 4.  Retention rate is very important in choosing an MLM opportunity.  A low retention rate means your residual income will fail.  Retention rates in Network Marketing are generally not good.  How much better would it be to know that the majority of people you put into your business would stay there, year in, year out? If a company has a low retention rate, you can expect to have to find lots more distributors in order to get paid the same amount as you would in another company with a better retention rate!

 5.  Your compensation plan is very important.  It can be hard to understand which type of compensation plan would be better for you.  Researching the type of plan is probably the best thing you can do.  Unless you know alot about many different compensation plans, you will mainly need to use your common sense.  If it sounds too good to be true, maybe it is..

 6.  Check out the management of the company.  See if they are trusted and respected in the industry.  Do they have a proven track record in business, either in MLM or direct sales? Research the company fully. Find out how long it has been operating; many MLM companies go under in their first year. See if you can find out their sales over the years it has been going, and see how these have increased.

 7.  Lastly check out MLM Watchdog.com for lots of information on MLM’s to help you in choosing an MLM.

I hope this will help you if you need help choosing an MLM opportunity. There are some great companies out there, one of them will be right for you.  I hope you have as much fun in this industry as I do!
